Thank you for you kind and quick answer.
I do not know if there should have been an attachement in your mail (as there was the last line about Adobe Reader). Just in case, I wanted to let you know that there were no files attached in the mail I received.
I do realize that I am about half a year early with this, but I thought that I’d better be too early than too late. 
Me and my husband are actually coming over for a few days sometime in the autumn, probably in the beginning of September, to deal with bank accounts and similar arrangements. It would be an ideal time for us also to view the houses you have found for us by then, and possibly also to make the agreement to rent a spesific house.
In my first contact I stated a couple of "musts" about our home-to-be, they were a good school area and no more than 25 miles to my work. I could now state a few things that would be a plus, but are not "musts" anyway. First of all, we would prefer to rent a furnished house. I realize that there are not so many furnished houses in the market, and we might not find one, but I just wanted to let you know that it would be a lot easier for us to find a home that is totally ready to move in and start living. Secondly, we would like the house to have a garage, hopefully for two cars. Also, we prefer wooden floors to carpet floors, as our younger son has asthma. For the same reason we prefer a house where there haven’t been any pets inside.

* Me and my family are moving from Finland, Europe to Maryland for a year as I am coming to work at Fraunhofer Institute ( http://fc-md.umd.edu/ ) as an exchance research scientist. In Finland I work as a research scientist at XXX ( www.xxx.fi ). I got your contact information from a colleague of mine, Mrs. X X-X, who was doing her research exchange at the same place a couple of years ago and found their home in Columbia with your help. They lived at 10462 Fair Oaks, Columbia MD 21044 from year 2001 to year 2003. We are interested of the Fair Oaks area as well, but also other areas of Howard County. The most important thing for us is the shool area as we have sons aged 6 and 12. Also, the distance between our house-to-be and College Park, where my working place is situated, is important. It should not be more that 25 miles. We will be moving to USA in the end of October, as my work there will begin 1 November, and continue for 13 months, so we would be leaving to Finland in the end of November 2007.
